LeRoy F. Mason, age 91, of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of the Stockton & Woodston area passed away December 8, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born April 11, 1918 the son of William & Catherine (Thoma) Mason. 

LeRoy held Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Social Work from USC and spent many years in both public and private work serving youth in the Los Angeles and Phoenix areas. He was a Board Certified Diplomat in Clinical Social Work, a member of the Society for Clinical Social Work and was a Certified Independent Social Worker.

He was an Army Veteran serving at the time of World War II. LeRoy enjoyed reading, ballroom dancing, art, and spending time with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Catherine, brothers Clarence, Ralph, Charley, Willie and sisters Maude Dryden and Eva Zink. LeRoy is survived by one brother John and his wife Opal Mason of Phillipsburg and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home in Stockton with Reverend Steve Slate officiating. Burial will be in the Woodston Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the Stockton City Library and may be sent in care of the Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N.
