Longtime Stockton area resident Deloris Cook, age 85, passed away January 5, 2010 at Solomon Valley Manor, Stockton, Kansas.

She was born September 24, 1924 in Webster, Kansas the daughter to Johnny Francis (Jake) and Bessie (Randall) Marsell.

 

Deloris married Lloyd Cook on May 9, 1943 in Kimball, NE.  Deloris taught school, worked in California during WWII and worked at Webster’s Grocery prior to becoming a full time wife, mother, and grandmother.

Deloris was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd on October 7, 1994, along with two siblings Kenneth and Thelma, and her parents.

Survivors include two sons, Gary and his wife Carol of Andover, KS; Steve and his wife Pat of Stockton; a daughter Sherry Stewart of Derby, KS; a brother Leon Marsell of Carlsbad, NM; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home with Reverend Darlene Nonhof officiating. Her final resting place will be in the Stockton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 Thursday, 9-8 Friday, and from 9-noon Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials contributions may be made to Monroe-Taylor-Barnes VFW Post 8873-Ladies Auxiliary and may be sent in care of Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N.
