Funeral services for Ruth E. Marshall, age 94, of Great Bend, formerly of Stockton will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Stockton Cemetery.  Mrs. Marshall passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood.

She was born September 6, 1915 the daughter of Ralph H. and Emily G. (Pacak) Griffin.  She graduated from Stockton High School and graduated from Central Business College in Kansas City, Missouri.  Mrs. Marshall taught school, later was the owner of a clothing store, and then owned Marshall Liquor. 

Ruth was a member of the Monroe-Taylor-Barnes V.F.W. Auxiliary and enjoyed knitting and golfing.  She married Bart Solomon.  He passed away during WWII.  She then married Paul R. Marshall on October 19, 1945 in Kansas City.  He passed away April 26, 1972.

Ruth is survived by her son Paul & wife Debbie Marshall of Great Bend, Kansas; daughter Ruth Ann Marshall of Victoria, Kansas; and three grandchildren Jennifer Dinges, Tanner Marshall, Logan Marshall.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Sara Dinges on August 20, 2006, 3 brothers Lee Griffin, Harry Griffin, Frank Griffin, and husbands Bart Solomon and Paul Marshall.

Visitation will be from 11 – 8 Sunday, 9 – 1:30 Monday at the Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N. First, Stockton, Kansas 67669.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Ruth E.
