Vivian Rose Jenkins, age 77, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born April 22, 1933, at Norcatur, Kansas to Frank Christopher and Nyra Batina(Garten) Green.  Rose married Donald F. Jenkins on August 3, 1952 at her parent’s home in Norcatur, Kansas. 

She helped Don run the family farm near Norcatur until they moved to Stockton in 1965 .  She then worked as the Stockton Grade School Secretary for 34 years until retiring in 2004. 

She was a member of the Stockton United Methodist Church and the Stockton VFW Auxiliary.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, an infant sister and sister Ruth Wright.

Survivors include one son, Donald Jenkins, Jr., Stockton,Kansas; two daughters, Christina Baber, Tribune, Kansas and Misty Higdon, Stockton, Kansas; one brother, James Green, Basehor, Kansas; two sisters, Marie Bailey, Norcatur, Kansas and Marjorie Toll, Kansas City, Kansas four grandsons, Bronson Baber, Tribune, Kansas Travis Jenkins, Hays, Kansas, Wes and Braden Higdon, Stockton, Kansas; three grand-daughters, Brittany Stewart, Gardner, Kansas; Tessie Edwards, Castle Rock, Colorado, and Rhianna Higdon, Stockton, Kansas; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, and 9 a.m. to service time at the church on Saturday.  Service will be Saturday morning, May 12, 2010 at the Stockton United Methodist Church, Stockton, Kansas, Rev. Darlene Nonhof will be conducting the service.  Burial will be in the Stockton Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stockton Wrestling Club and maybe sent in care of the funeral home.
